Like every year young Christians from several European countries met in order to pray, to meditate and to celebrate the beginning of the year 2014 in a different way. This initiative of the Brothers of the ecumenical community of Taizé invited thousands of young people to Strasbourg / France near the German border this year.

A community of sisters testifies:

Three girls, Luisa, Mirjam and Franziska, spread their mats and sleeping bags on the carpet of our living room as if on a campground. We had breakfast together with the girls, who were still a bit sleepy, but evening tea was a time of lively conversation, which the girls continued until late into the night.

On New Year’s Day we had sauerkraut, the typical dish for a festivity in the Alsace. We all enjoyed the relaxed and friendly atmosphere and talks. Finally our young friends said good-bye, not without thanking us with carefully chosen little presents.

Some of us had the honour of hosting angels.

We had three in ‘Bostonerstraße’!’ O:-)  O:-) O:-)
