From the 31st of January until the 2nd of February 2014 a meeting of the sisters of the Slovak Province with the General Superior Sr. Monika Heuser and the General Assistant Sr. Margita Tušanová took place in Banska Bystrica. 24 sisters with final profession, which entered the congregation after year 1989 that means after the end of the communistic regime, attended the meeting.

The meeting had a joyful atmosphere. One of the aims of the meeting was to confirm and deepen our vocation, or rather to look back on the vocation and look forward into the future. The General Superior Sr. Monika Heuser enriched us with her experiences, she encouraged us and at the same time we felt that she is going this way with us and she accompanying us. Together we also thought about what can help us to be more engaged for the poor and needy. We realized that the strength of the Resurrected is bigger than the poverty in this world. Through the texts of the latest Apostolic exhortation Evangelii Gaudium of the Holy Father Francis we were encouraged in the faith that Jesus Christ is the source of our hope, of the change of our hearts, the spring of water of life and we are invited to be human amphoras from which others can drink. We also tried to name the dangers that a religious person can experience in today’s world. During adoration, in the evening before the World Day of Consecrated Life, we renewed our vows together.

We are very thankful that Sr. Monika found time and came to encourage us in our vocation, so that we faithfully follow Jesus Christ and live our vocation in freedom and responsibility. She also encouraged us to fully experience, together with the sisters of other provinces, the spirituality and charism of the Sisters of the Divine Saviour and so be able to walk together towards the future. „Hľa, ja tvorím čosi nové, nebadáte?“ (Iz 43, 19)
