Happy Birthday to our elderly sister, Sister Alphonsa!

The Province of Angola rejoices over the 102nd birthday of Sister Alphonsa, one of the first Angolan sisters. On August 1st she was celebrated her birthday and feast day and the feast  of the Patron Saint of the Congregation, St. Alphonse Marie de Liguori. Sister Alphonsa still remembers very well the foundation of the Congregation in Angola and the first "daughters" of Blessed Mother Alphonsa Marie.

Our gratitude goes to God, author of life and vocation, and to Sister Alphonsa for her fidelity and perseverance, for her witness of a life consecrated to the Lord and to the Church and for her selfless service to the Congregation and to the people of Angola.

A thanksgiving mass was celebrated at the Santa Cruz community by Bishop António Jaka, bishop of the diocese of Benguela, in the presence of all the sisters of our communities in the city of Benguela.

Thank you dear Sister Alphonsa for always showing us, through your joyful and faithful dedication, the tenderness and mercy of the Father revealed in Jesus Christ.

Congratulations Sister Alphonsa! May God bless you!
